Prophecy Update: Russia and the coming invasion of Israel.
In 1970, Hal Lindsey wrote the book, “The Late Great Planet Earth.” I did not become a Christian until 1974 and at the age of 14, this is one of the books I heard about very quickly. What fascinated me about the book was the discussion on the Gog Magog prophecy and the part that the Soviet Union would play in the end times. Lindsey and many others predicted that something would have to happen to Iran. At the time of the writing, Iran was an enemy of Russia and a friend of the USA and Israel. For the prophecy of Ezekiel 38-39 to come true, Iran would have to become an enemy of Israel.
By the time I was 19, Iran fell to the Ayatollah Khomeini and quickly became an ally of Russia. The year was 1979 and things were not looking good for America under the leadership of President Jimmy Carter. To further the intrigue among Christians, by 1991, the Soviet Union fell and many put this prophecy on the back burner. I did not do that because I saw clearly that this gave the opportunity for Iran and Russia to get closer. As the years piled up, that is exactly what happened.
Russia has just increased in strength since 1991. They pleaded with NATO and America not to advance NATO into their sphere as they saw it as a threat. The USA agreed and then did the exact opposite. This challenge to Russia gives Russia the opportunity to gain more strength, leading to the attack on Israel. The USA will be out of the game somehow and Russia will feel emboldened to attack Israel. All of the articles today will be about the coming war with Russia.

It is the ominous sign that usually precedes war. Russia is removing all of their embassy staff from the USA by the end of January and are in the process of throwing out the Americans from Moscow. What really pointed out the sins of America is the fact that Russia made a point of the immorality of the USA. When the Russians said, take your rainbow flag with you, is another way of saying, get your immoral ways out of our country!

Russia is also removing all of their diplomatic corp. from Ukraine. The Ukrainians are watching the Europeans talk a big game, but not supplying the military backing to win a war with Russia. As I studied the map of surrounding countries, NATO only has 10,000 troops in four countries that can help Ukraine. Ukraine is not a NATO member, many of the nations do not want to fight against Russia over Ukraine, and NATO is truly divided.

Germany is an example of a country in NATO split over what to do to help Ukraine. Germany will not fight Russia again. They need the oil and gas that Russia can supply because they are not getting it from anyone else. All of Europe is divided over the gas and oil. The elites want the people to freeze to death as they protect global climate change. The elites of the European Union want to get rid of oil and gas, regardless of the consequences to the people. The people of Europe do not want to freeze to death! NATO is dead. Look at the date of the next article:

Turkey is already out of NATO in practice, not by treaty yet. Turkey is not an ally of Europe, they signed a deal with Russia and bought their S-400 missile defense shield. They cooperate with Russia, meet with Putin, and shun the USA for the most part.

My point is that Russia is being emboldened by God to conduct the prophecy mentioned in Ezekiel 36-39. Here is a brief survey from that passage.
- The Babylonians would drive the Israelites from their land, for a long time.
- Their land would be confiscated by the surrounding nations.
- The nations would hate the Jews and will not give up the land.
- Against all odds, Israel returned to the land in 1948 as predicted.
- The nations will oppose Israel and start an unending war.
- Israel will survive and prosper, making the enemies of Israel even more hateful.
- This will provoke the Russians to come down for war against Israel.
- Lastly, Ezekiel is clear that this will lead to the salvation of Israel. In the meantime, Russia is making clear that the USA lied about their intentions:

Russia has been making the point that the USA and NATO promised during the 1990’s that there would not be a eastward advancement of NATO towards the Russian homeland. In 2015, the USA threatened Russia with the takeover of Ukraine by a CIA run color revolution. Russia has complained, threatened, and tried to stop NATO from these advances and all have failed. NATO and America are bound and determined to move our troops and nukes to the border of Russia. That is a red line for Russia. Think of it as the Cuban missile crises in reverse. Russia claims that America is committing the same mistake the Soviet Union made in 1963. Here is what America is saying now:

It was the fault of the USA and NATO that led to the overthrow of Ukraine in 2014. Here is an article that explains the problem:

Under President Barack Obama, the USA was backing anyone who was an enemy of the Jews. This is the case in 2014 and Obama was building a coalition of nations to oppose Israel. The Ukrainans backed Hitler and did many atrocities against the Jews. God may use Russia to punish Ukraine and America for these sins and then put the hook in their jaw to drag them down to Israel.

Many people are warning that Russia just may attack the USA and not Ukraine, using the troop buildup as a red herring while they prepare to attack Europe and the USA.

One thing is very clear, Russia is tired of American sanctions, attacks, and bullying. Putin is not a man to trifle with. Europe will soon learn that after 40 years of depending on America for their security, after 40 years of neglect to their security needs, they will pay a high price in a war with Russia. America does not have the will to fight a war in Europe or Ukraine, and Europe does not have the goods to fight Russia. President Trump pointed out that the NATO countries did not invest in their own security they want America to defend them. Europe had a generation investing in 8-week vacations, universal health care and lavish retirement funds without a thought to the threat to their north. All they could do is attack Trump, but Trump was right. America spent more on defense then all 29 members of NATO combined. Today, NATO is a paper tiger and without the USA, NATO is leaderless, fractured, divided, and broke. A perfect scenario for the rise of antichrist!
