Prophecy Update: Parable of the Sower, Matt.13:1-9, 18-23. May 25, 2019
When we were in the Dominican Republic, we shared five verses that were the Gospel. According to Matt.13, we were the sower and the five verses were the seed. We called the gospel the Bridge illustration. Here are the five verses: 1John 1:5, God is light and in Him there is no darkness at all. Romans 3:23, For all have sinned and have fallen short of the glory of God. We emphasized the difference between God and man. The problem is our sin. The answer is the Bridge between God and man: Romans 5:8 says, God demonstrates His own love for us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. 2 Cor. 5:21 “God made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. The answer to the problem of sin is Jesus who can give us a righteousness not our own, but the righteousness which comes by faith. The last verse was Romans 10:9, If we confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in our heart that God raised Him from the dead, we shall be saved. This is the seed that we sowed on the ground of the people’s hearts.
Those who hear the gospel are described in Matt.13. There are four types of people who hear the gospel and the first three are those who hear the Word and reject it. The last one, the one who bears fruit, this is the only one who is truly saved! Where is America with this parable? America is like the sower sowing the seed on the rocky places which have no root and like the thorns. The rocky soil is described as those who hear the Word but they have no root. America is rootless. Also, America is like the gospel falling on the thorns, the cares of this world choke out the truth. I want to explore this in this prophecy update.
When I see that so called Christians reject the doctrine of God, especially the holiness of God, there is a problem. Why do people reject the holiness of God? In our culture churches are adopting sinful behaviors to appease the world. When economic pressure is put on the church to accept immorality, homosexuality, abortion, hatred of Israel, they cave to those putting pressure on them. The Methodist church is the latest example of this in the press. The American delegation voted to adopt a pro homosexuality position for the church. Christianity Today said this: “The UMC’s increasingly global delegation outweighs US push to shift LGBT positions, leading some progressive congregations to leave.”
To summarize, for years the Methodist have been pushed to adopt immoral positions. Those who are pushing these immoral positions are proof of the false teachers allowed to have power in the denomination. The American delegation is full of those who care about the world’s ways and not Gods ways. God’s holiness is at stake in the Methodist denomination, thank God for the African Methodist who have not abandoned God! Christianity Today said this: “In the States, a large portion of Methodists wanted to see the church accommodate LGBT ceremonies and clergy, as other mainline denominations have done in recent years. One poll through Mainstream UMC reported at least two-thirds of US delegates supported the more-inclusive “One Church Plan” instead.”
Jesus said in Matt.13 that the seed that fell on the rocky soil are those who ‘hear the Word and receive it with joy but have no root in themselves, it is only temporary and when affliction or persecution arises because of the Word, immediately they fall away.’ The False believers among us are those who do not continue to repent. If you cannot define sin, then you cannot repent. All true believers are true repenters. Also, Jesus said that the seed that falls on the thorns are “like the man who hears the Word and the worry of the world and deceitfulness of wealth choke the Word and it becomes unfruitful.” This is the double minded man who wants the worlds ways, not God’s ways.
Consistently the Scriptures teach us that God is immutable, He does not change. God hates sin! Always!
Dt.32:4 says, “The Rock! His work is perfect, For all His ways are just; A God of faithfulness and without injustice, Righteous and upright is He.”
Dt.32:39, ‘See now that I, I am He, And there is no god besides Me; It is I who put to death and give life. I have wounded and it is I who heal, And there is no one who can deliver from My hand.’
John 3:19-20, “This is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil. “For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed.’
Jesus came into the world as God Himself and He hates sin. He never sinned and He teaches us that men love darkness rather than the light. This is America today under the dominating power of sin. The nation is appeasing those who hate the light. The issue for America is the heart, not denominations. A heart that has good soil, that receives the Word, and bears fruit is the one who wants the light, only God can move a heart to this place.
A conversation on CNN exposed the rocky and thorny soil completely on May 10th. The debate on Chris Cuomo show was about abortion. Cuomo took the pro-abortion side, Rick Santorum took the pro-life side and CNN political contributor Christine Quinn took the pro-abortion side. This is how the debate went: The pro-life Santorum had challenged Cuomo and Quinn about their belief that the unborn baby inside a woman’s womb is not a human. “Do you guys realize a baby DIES in an abortion? Are you ignoring that fact. This is a human life,” Santorum says. “It’s not a legal fact,” Cuomo inserts. Christine Quinn, a board member of the National Institute of Reproductive Health, said, “When a woman gets pregnant, that is not a human being inside of her. It’s part of her body, and this is about a woman having full agency and control over her body and making decisions about her body and what is part of her body with medical professionals.” This is the view being pushed on us that the baby is not a human being. Here was the headline the next day.

Here is the exciting thing about the Parable of the Sower, there will be people who bear fruit. The millions of people who have been praying that God will destroy the abortion industry because it murders babies, are excited that God is answering our prayers. This is a spiritual problem, not a political problem. Every politician, judge, pastor, counselor, and teacher that advocates for abortion is standing against the creator. It is Romans 1:18, the wrath of God is against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth! Here is how God is answering our prayers: “Miracles Happen! “Unplanned” Movie is Causing Abortion Workers to Leave Their Jobs”
Many states are lining up to declare whether the baby is human or not. Vermont, New York, etc. have said this is not a human being. Others like Alabama are standing up for life. This is no different from the Confederacy saying that blacks are less then human, Nazis saying that Jews are not human, and those who say that a baby is not human. God is changing hearts and many more people are choosing the truth. Abortion is like the sin of those who sacrificed their children to Molech and Baal.
Here is what is not being talked about in this debate. Most nations have disobeyed Gods first command in Gen.1:28: Be fruitful and multiply! All of Europe and America are suffering from a low birth rate that does not replace our people. The four soils are important for individuals and for nations. Most nations have denied that God commands them to be fruitful and multiply. Our nation is cold to the truth. Our courts and the Supreme Court have chosen to deny their creator and advocate for the death of babies. They advocate the death of children in the womb, they advocate that marriage is between two men or woman. This also denies the absolute truth of what God has set up for the good of nations and people. Jesus said that from the beginning, marriage is based on one man and one woman. On the other hand, God is moving in the hearts of people all over our nation. The left would not be so angry if they did not have a true church to attack.
The enemy of the left is the Church. Not a denomination, a vibrant group of born again believers who stand with Jesus and stand for the truth. A people who believe that the Truth Shall Set You Free. Only the truth can set people free, not compromise with falsehoods. John 3:21 says, “he who practices the truth comes to the light that his deeds might be manifested as having been done in God.”
As you stand for the truth today, remember that Jesus never leaves us nor will He ever forsake us. Like our brother, John the Baptist, who never compromised the truth, let us stand for truth in our day as he did. He told Herod that he should not have his brother’s wife-he did not compromise with immorality. He said in Matt.14:4, For John had been saying to him, “It is not lawful for you to have her.” Are you telling the culture, it is not lawful for you to kill babies, it is not lawful for you to have sex outside of marriage, it is not lawful for you to steal, kill, covet. Jesus does not abide sin, He takes it away. He will not take it away unless people recognize it as sin. The tax man went home justified because he said, have mercy on me a sinner. Jesus has mercy on all who confess and repent of their sin. Cast your cares on Him, He will carry you!
