Prophecy Update: The American Hour 6/4/2020
“If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?” Psalm 11:3
David is lamenting the rise of wicked people who wish harm to the righteous. It is a fitting Psalm for the day in which we live. God gives the answer to the righteous in the Bible. His answer is to pursue Him, longing for righteousness. Do you long for a righteous church? Do you yearn for a culture that exalts righteousness and rejects evil? This weekend saw an explosion of violence in America. The Lord gives us a truth that I hope the church will heed.
“The LORD tests the righteous and the wicked, and the one who loves violence His soul hates.” Psalm 11:5
The LORD has tested the righteous in our country. God commands that we are with each other and the church has obeyed the state in staying away from each other. Simple acts of love, hugging each other, holding hands while praying are being avoided. State and church officials have told the sheep of Jesus to separate! I believe that Acts 4:29-31 gives us the prayer for this day.
“And now, Lord, take note of their threats, and grant that Your bond-servants may speak Your word with all confidence, while You extend Your hand to heal, and signs and wonders take place through the name of Your holy servant Jesus. And when they had prayed, the place where they had gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak the word of God with boldness.”
God’s answer is to pray, speak His WORD with boldness, and trust that the Holy Spirit will move! In Peter’s day, God was judging Israel and He removed His hand of protection from the nation. It is the same today in America; God has removed His hand of protection from the country. The church is in the same place as the early chapters of Acts. In China, the church sent her members out to lay hands on the sick with coronavirus to pray for their healing. Wow! That is a church alive and healthy. That is a church acting in faith, not fear. The power of prayer, the WORD, and the Holy Spirit, infects the Chinese church. This infection spreads truth, life, salvation, and hope.
In the outbreak of protests and violence, there is no social distancing. Did any governors, doctors, mayors, or politicians condemn these people for not social distancing? The answer is NO! No one is acting in fear over the lack of social distancing for protestors, no one is threatening to arrest them for not social distancing, no one is saying they are spreading some virus.
Many years ago I read, “The American Hour” by Os Guinness. Written in 1989, it explores the crises of cultural authority in the United States. Guinness insights were tremendous in 1989 and even more important now. Guinness writes,
“First, the character and strength of a culture resides in the power of its beliefs, ideals, and traditions to exert a double influence in society, disciplining as well as inspiring and empowering renunciations as well as release. Second is that this cultural authority is strongest when it is unconscious, unquestioned, and covers the whole of social life, addressing ordinary citizens no less than leaders, the concerns of private life as much as public life. Third in the cluster is that the deepest source and agency of this cultural authority lies in its faiths. Fourth is that a crisis of cultural authority occurs when a cultures faiths lose their inner compelling power, either because a rival faith challenges them or because in changing circumstances, they fail to command a continuing assent from their own adherents. Fifth is that such a crises does not occur suddenly or through any single event but as a long and profound shift in the foundations of a culture. Sixth is that the eventual decline or death of a culture is a stage beyond the crises of cultural authority.” (page 28-29)
Christians believe that cultural authority comes from the Word of God. God has given us direction on how to conduct ourselves as a nation. Blessed is the nation whose Lord is the God of the Bible! Exalting unrighteousness in a nation will lead to judgment. We see the judgment of God in our nation and Psalm 11:3 gives us one of those judgments — the foundations are destroyed. Businesses destroyed by quarantine and violence reflect how the hand of God is against the nation. God is testing the righteous! Here are some articles about what is happening:
“Trump vows to use military if governors don’t deploy National Guard to stop riots.” World Net Daily “I am mobilizing all federal resources, civilian and military to stop the rioting and looting, to end the destruction and arson, and to protect the rights of law-abiding Americans, including your Second Amendment rights. POTUS said he has strongly recommended that every United States governor deploy the National Guard “in sufficient numbers that we dominate the streets,” warning that if the state or city does not take action, Trump will deploy the United States military and “quickly solve the problem for them.”
The riots are spreading across the United States. It was an interesting weekend. We had NASA blasting off a rocket with two astronauts. I haven’t seen that in a long time. Imagine how our nation used to take pride in accomplishments like this, not anymore. The virus gave way to a wave of lawlessness across the nation. Destroyers hijacked legitimate protests. Here is how one article saw it:
“These RIOTS are the attempted communist uprising against America, and all those who are complicit in the treason must be arrested and prosecuted.” Natural News “Our sources are now confirming that a guard station outside the White House was torched last night by “rioters.” They’re really communist-led terrorist cells who are probing the White House as part of a sophisticated operation to overrun the property and attempt to assassinate President Trump. We are also learning that the tech giants — Twitter, Facebook, Amazon, YouTube, etc. — are all-in with the Antifa terrorists, and some platforms are allowing Antifa terror cells to use their online messaging to coordinate acts of terrorism on U.S. soil.”
I have been studying for years how our nation changed. A fundamental shift in American thinking happened in the 1930’s. We moved from a biblical view of life to a humanist view. The results of that shift caused a nation adrift in relativism. I memorized Os Guinness’s observation in 1991, “’Just say NO’ is America’s most urgently needed slogan at the very moment in our history when ‘Why Not?’ is America’s most unanswerable question.”
Ruth Graham, wife of Billy Graham said when I was in college, “If God does not judge America, He will have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah.”
In 2016, Ben Carson had this to say during the election cycle:
“Want to understand Hillary Clinton? Read Saul Alinsky.” Washington Examiner. “When Ben Carson, in his speech at the Republican National Convention, drew attention to Hillary Clinton’s tribute to the radical community organizer Saul Alinsky (1909-72), no eyebrows ascended. But when Carson went on to invoke Alinsky’s admiration of Lucifer, and tie Clinton to that community organizer, the guffaws began in earnest. “So are we willing,” Carson asked, “to elect someone as president who has as their role model somebody who acknowledges Lucifer? Alinsky’s most famous book, the 1971 Rules for Radicals: A Pragmatic Primer for Realistic Radicals, includes a dedication to “the first radical known to man who rebelled against the establishment and did it so effectively that he at least won his own kingdom — Lucifer. In 1969, she wrote “‘There Is Only the Fight …’: An Analysis of the Alinsky Model,” a 92-page senior thesis at Wellesley College on the elder radical’s tactics. At the Clintons’ request, the thesis was embargoed until after they left the White House.”
Hillary Clinton is like countless others who have adopted a Marxist/Leninist philosophy to life and politics. Marxist/Leninist thought invaded the church through the Liberation Theology movement.
“If you want to destroy the constitutional republic, have a cultural revolution, put away the guns and the bullets, remember Marcuse said, go after the morality of existing culture. That means you destroy the family, you destroy the American male, you destroy a patriarchal society, replace it with a matriarchal society, bring in feminism, bring in the sexual liberation movement, and a coalition of victims so at the end of the day the Frankfurt School said this. This is key. “The source of all suffering and oppression is Christianity and capitalism.” Standing in The Gap “But effectively, put another way, their goal was to flip on its head, the Marxist, the Atheist, was to flip on its head what we term to be a Judeo Christian worldview. God, God as creator, man as creation, sin entering the world and a need for redemption in Jesus Christ. If you can take and flip that entire thing on its head, and cut away the moral underpinning that you were so carefully saying, then in fact you will destroy the institutions of society that God has established and that were the corners of our nation.”
The churches of America have been duped. Many do not teach the Bible. This has caused a crisis and God is judging America for it. Here is what was said on Fox News this week:
“Tucker Carlson: Our leaders have dithered and lied about the riots as the nation goes up in flames.” Fox News “The nation went up in flames this weekend. No one in charge stood up to save America. Our leaders dithered. They cowered. They openly sided with the destroyers. In many cases, they egged them on. This is how nations collapse. When no one in authority keeps
the order, and when someone in our professional class encourage violence, American citizens are forced to defend themselves. They have no choice. No one else is going to defend them — they know that now. The worst people in our society have taken control. They did nothing to build this country. Now, they are tearing it down. They are rushing us toward mass suicide.”
The big cities are where the terrorists strike most, what happens when they target small towns?
Guns, Police & Fear: How Antifa is Changing the Face of America. Clarion Project “Reports on the ground indicate that intelligence given to President Trump – that Antifa has used the unrest over the killing of Geroge Floyd by a policeman to instigate a violent insurrection – is correct. Antifa is an extremist movement that demands nothing less than the destruction of America and its democratic system of government.”
The article lists 10 things they want to accomplish. Here are four of them:
“Liberation by any means necessary. We will destroy state, military, police, military corporations, and all those who run the American plantation. Those who are oppressed will determine revolutionary justice. There will be no government, no person or group will have power over another.”
This is a truly frightening vision for America, they are serious! Here is another thing to keep in mind:
‘America has Officially Entered a Civil War it won’t Recover from’ Hidden Rabbis Warn. Breaking Israel News. “Rabbi Weingarten noted that as the time to implement the Peace Plan, it becomes clear that Israel will be forced to divide the land in direct contravention of Biblical law. “And now, the American government wants Israel to walk away from the land that God told us to protect, the land that we finally returned to after 2,000 years,” Rabb Weingarten said. “God forbid, if the US forces us to do that, will there be another measure for measure teaching them what it means to leave their land? I can’t imagine it but who could have imagined the coronavirus and then these riots?”
When I read the Peace Plan, it was clear to me that it would lead to Israel gaining all of the land of Judea and Samaria. The Peace Plan makes it impossible for the Palestinians to accept – they would have to give up terrorism, teaching children that Israel stole the land, terror from Hamas, Hezbollah, and Islamic Jihad. I thought then, and I think now, that the Arabs and Muslims will never agree to what is in the deal. God said that He would give the land to His people the Jews. That will happen. Let us pray that America does not sin another sin against God and divide the land of Israel for the sake of a false peace with a people bent on killing Jews!
Back to our verse in Psalm 11:5, “The LORD tests the righteous and the wicked.” As righteous people, please pray and seek the Lord this week. Join me in praying for the peace of Jerusalem and the revival of America. I think when it gets darkest, Jesus’s light shines even brighter. Are you praying for a great revival in America? “If My people who are called by My name shall humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and forgive their sin and heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14
