Wars and rumors of wars: There is tension all over the world. Armies and governments are facing off with threats. These threats give the impression that a war is about to happen.
China and the South China Sea: As China has taken control of the South China Sea they have made threats to the other nations who also have claims to the same waters. China also claims to have control over the air space and are threatening to declare an Air Defense Identification Zone, known as the ADIZ. Taiwan made a bold statement yesterday when they said, “We will not recognize an air defense zone declared by China! Taiwan warned that China is creating the possibility of sparking global conflict. The reason this can flare up into a wider conflict is because many nations fly over the region that China claims as their own. If they do declare an ADIZ, then the USA will be in direct conflict with China.
China has been building islands and manning the islands with their military, essentially setting up military outposts so they can control the shipping lanes of the South China Sea. Several incidents of Chinese jets buzzing US reconnaissance planes have been increasing. These are dangerous encounters. In addition, China and N. Korea are reuniting in an apparent threat to what America did with Vietnam. Last week Pres. Obama went to Vietnam and made peace with them and promised to sell them arms.
Russia: Russia is claiming that the USA is whipping up Russiaphobia in the world! TASS (Telegraph Agency of the Soviet Union) is reporting that Russian Defense Minister spokesman Igor Konashenkov is warning that NATO and the US are showing a pattern of hysteria. Russia is moving troops to the west to counter NATO and American troops moving into Poland and conducting the largest war games since the Cold War. (America and NATO have moved 31,000 troops to the borders of Russia) Much of the war games are pointing to a war with Russia.
Russia has been bombing Aleppo, the largest city in Syria, the last week in an apparent move to destroy the so called moderate group Al Nusra and Isis. The President of Syria, Bashir Assad, has vowed that he will take back all of Syria. Just before this move to bomb Aleppo, President Obama asked President Putin to leave Al Nusra alone. Of course, Putin stuck it in Obama’s face and went after them hard.
Middle East: Iran is marching through the Middle East and surrounding Saudi Arabia. They control Iraq to the Saudi’s north, Yemen to the Saudi’s south, and they are more powerful than Saudi Arabia. They are sworn enemies and the threatening has made strange bedfellows. The Saudi’s have turned to the Israeli’s in a strange twist of fate. At the same time, the Saudi’s have proposed a peace deal with Israel to solve the Israeli Palestinian conflict. As the French tried and failed last Friday to push a peace deal between the Jews and Arabs, Israel rejected anything that the French tried to do. Instead they turned to the Saudi plan. The Bible is clear, none of this will work because these nations do not recognize what God is doing in the world. These nations need to agree that the West Bank belongs to Israel. No two state solution will meet the standards that God has declared. Iran will fail in all of this fighting.
