Prophecy Update: A Christian Nation? 9/14/2022
God has made it clear to every nation in the world that they are subject to His ways and His revelation. All nations have a life span that is subject to the will of God. If God wants to judge the nation, then He will warn that nation before He brings a final judgment. When He wants to bless a nation, He will lead that nation to understand and obey His will. For any nation to deny that God is the Lord is foolishness and not living in reality. The United States of America was started by people who believed that God was raising up the nation for His own purposes. Here are a few quotes from the founders:
John Witherspoon
Signer of the Declaration of Independence. “I entreat you in the most earnest manner to believe in Jesus Christ, for there is no salvation in any other [Acts 4:12]. . . . [I]f you are not reconciled to God through Jesus Christ, if you are not clothed with the spotless robe of His righteousness, you must forever perish.”
Samuel Adams
Father of the American Revolution, Signer of the Declaration of Independence. “I . . . recommend my Soul to that Almighty Being who gave it, and my body I commit to the dust, relying upon the merits of Jesus Christ for a pardon of all my sins.”
John Dickinson
Signer of the Constitution. “Rendering thanks to my Creator for my existence and station among His works, for my birth in a country enlightened by the Gospel and enjoying freedom, and for all His other kindnesses, to Him I resign myself, humbly confiding in His goodness and in His mercy through Jesus Christ for the events of eternity.”
It is clear from these founders that they were Christians and that they thought you needed Jesus in your life. I have many other founders that I could have quoted, it is clear that this nation has been called of God. We have left the faith of our Fathers. It is tragic. Even so, there are many hopeful things to look forward to! Here is a quote from one of the people that lived through the American Revolution and contributed to the building of our country:

It is very clear that our nation was conceived by the Lord Jesus prior to the revolution of 1776. God prepared the nation for the coming conflict with the First Great Awakening. The revolutionary motto, “Rebellion to tyrants is obedience to God,” filled the land. Many have said of the Revolution that it started in the First Great Awakening. Here is an example…

As Jedediah Morse noted in the earlier quote, lose Christianity, lose the nation. God is clear in the scriptures….
“For the LORD is our judge, The LORD is our lawgiver,The LORD is our king; He will save us”
Isaiah 33:22
This verse points out that God is the only savior of nations and people. The categories of judge, lawgiver, and king mirror the three branches of government in America. The judicial, legislative, and executive branches were conceived in America to follow Gods plan for nations. Our nation has violated this statute laid out for us by God. Florida is actually going the opposite direction of the nation, they are embracing the truth of God.

“While researching quotes from our founders for the new site images, I learned something new (yes, us old folks can do that). It seems that the three branches of government found in our Constitution are the result of a scripture. “For the LORD is our judge (Supreme Court), the LORD is our lawgiver (Congress), the LORD is our king (Presidency); He will save us.” Isaiah 33:22 (parenthesis inclusions are mine).

I read a book many years ago that purported Isaiah 33:22 was the foundation for our own government. It was called, “We Still Hold These Truths: Rediscovering Our Principles, Reclaiming Our Future” by Matthew Spalding. The book was an amazing ride through history, cataloging all the founders did and believed, all the while demanding America return to her roots. When our rights are treated as if the government is God, then all bets are off. God will not long wait to act on a nation that apostates from Him and the truths He laid out for it!
The pillars of Christianity have fallen in America, therefore our nation is failing. Where did these thoughts of a Christian nation come from? The founders read a book by Baron Charles Montesquieu who wrote “The Spirit of the Laws.” This book was very influential:
“A book that was read and studied intently by our Founders. Montesquieu wrote in 1748; “Nor is there liberty if the power of judging is not separated from legislative power and from executive power. If it [the power of judging] were joined to legislative power, the power over life and liberty of the citizens would be arbitrary, for the judge would be the legislature if it were joined to the executive power, the judge could have the force of an oppressor. All would be lost if the same body of principal men exercised these three powers.” Madison claimed Isaiah 33:22 as the source of division of power in government. So how did they produce a document that has withstood the test of an evolving government and growing Nation for 225 years? The answer: these men were steeped in the word of God. Separation of powers gives us protection from a despotic government. Unfortunately, our government has violated the separation of powers mandate, politicizing the Department of Justice, corrupting the FBI, and using mafia style tactics to brow beat their enemies into submission. Remember that the Christian men who built this country, they followed the Word of God. Here is another example:
Ezra 7:24: “You are also to know that you have no authority to impose taxes, tribute, or duty on any of the priests, Levites, singers, temple servants, or other workers in the House of the Lord.” Our government protected churches, no taxes for churches because the Word of God said so. The current IRS does not follow this decree from God and they are coming after the churches. Over half of the churches in America listened to the decree from the government not to meet two years ago. God separated the sheep from the goats at that time. What will happen the next time the government claims authority over God and His church?
Our founding fathers knew their bibles, they trusted in it’s wisdom, and the lie of America today is that the founding fathers were not Christians. Lets pray like George Washington when he said, “ my fervent supplications to that Almighty Being who rules over the Universe, who presides in the Councils of Nations, and whose providential aids can supply every human defect, that his benediction may consecrate to the liberties and happiness of the People of the United States, a Government instituted by themselves for these essential purposes: and may enable every instrument employed in its administration to execute with success, the functions allotted to his charge.”
