Prophecy Update: Dec.29, 2017
The decision to declare Jerusalem the capital of Israel is fraught with two dangers. One, it will lead to war and two, it will lead to a false peace agreement. When President Trump made the declaration on Dec.6th it righted many wrongs.
A short history lesson is in order. On Nov.29th 1947, the UN passed UN Res. 181 which was the original partition plan creating two states, Israel and an Arab state. That resolution declared that Jerusalem would remain an international city. When David Ben Gurion (first leader of Israel) declared Israel a nation on May 14th 1948 it was attacked by the Arab states that rejected the UN resolution 181. They did not want Israel to exist and so they attacked her to drive the Jews into the sea. When Israel won that war, David Ben Gurion declared Jerusalem to be the ‘eternal capital’ of Israel. Israel believed that Jordan was the occupying power and needed to be driven out. Jordan held on to Jerusalem until 1967. Jews were not allowed to pray at the Western Wall, not allowed to return to the Jewish quarter, not allowed to go to Mount Scopus. Hebrew University and Hadassa Hospital are on Mount Scopus and no Jews were allowed to go there, so hateful was the Jordanian administration toward Jews. The Jordanians destroyed synagogues, schools, cemeteries, and the UN did nothing, not a whisper, not a single resolution condemning the Jordanians.
Israel drove out the Jordanians in the Six Day War of June 1967. Jerusalem houses the Knesset, legislative, judicial, presidential, and administrative offices of the government of Israel. Since Arab states and the UN reject that Jerusalem is Jewish, the Israeli government passed the “Basic Jerusalem Law” which declared a unified Jerusalem as Israel’s eternal and indivisible capital. That law passed in 1980 and ever since the international community has declared it illegal. The UN responded to Israel with a resolution declaring that Israel annexation of East Jerusalem a violation of international law. In fact, the UN has passed six resolutions declaring the unification of Jerusalem under the government of Israel illegal and null and void. The USA responded to the UN anti-Semitism by passing the Jerusalem Act in 1995 requiring the US to move its embassy to Jerusalem. Unfortunately, the US has not made good on that law until now.
The problem that the world has with Israel is that Jews believe that Jerusalem is Jewish and their eternal capital. Ever since the Romans drove out the Jews in 70AD, the Jews have said, next year in Jerusalem. Israel will not accept a divided city and Arabs will not accept Jews in Jerusalem or Palestine for that matter. It is very strange indeed that any peace deal can come while the Arab states still have as their official law that all of Palestine belongs to the Muslims, no Jews allowed.
In 2009 the UN passed a resolution that said, “any actions taken by Israel, the occupying power, to impose its laws, jurisdiction and administration on the Holy City Jerusalem are illegal and therefore null and void and have no validity whatsoever and calls upon Israel to cease all such illegal and unilateral measures.” So when you hear in the news that our President did something that is against international law, this is what they are referring to. The reason that they would be wrong is that these UN resolutions are not legally binding. All of the UN resolutions by the general assembly, stating that Jerusalem is not Jewish, is not Israel’s capital city are not legally binding!
That brings us to December 23rd 2016 and the resolution declaring that all of Israel’s holy sites are occupied territory and flagrant violation of international law. Our UN representative Samantha Powers said of the resolution: “First, because they underscore the United States’ deep and long-standing commitment to achieving a comprehensive and lasting peace between the Israelis and Palestinians. That has been the policy of every administration, Republican and Democrat, since before President Reagan and all the way through to the present day. Second, because President Reagan’s words highlight the United States’ long-standing position that Israeli settlement activity in territories occupied in 1967 undermines Israel’s security, harms the viability of a negotiated two-state outcome, and erodes prospects for peace and stability in the region. Today, the Security Council reaffirmed its established consensus that settlements have no legal validity. It is because this forum too often continues to be biased against Israel; because there are important issues that are not sufficiently addressed in this resolution; and because the United States does not agree with every word in this text, that the United States did not vote in favor of the resolution. But it is because this resolution reflects the facts on the ground – and is consistent with U.S. policy across Republican and Democratic administration throughout the history of the State of Israel – that the United States did not veto it.”
The amount of deception in Powers speech reflects the power of anti-Semitism and racism towards Jews at the UN. Satan has a grip on the nations and has convinced them of two lies. The first lie is that the Arab states want a two state solution which they do not. The Arab states want the Jews out of the land, they do not want the 1947 decision to exist. The second lie is that Jews have no rights to the land of Israel. This I have been writing about for years, God has a controversy with the nations. When He decided to bring the Jews back to His land which He gave to Jews, the world reacted by denying the Jews access to the land.
President Trump on Dec.6th of 2017 sent shock waves across the world—he said that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel, it is reality, get over it. He is the first president to pray at the Western Wall and the first one to declare that the Western Wall is part of Israel. This was in defiance of what the UN said on Dec.23rd 2016. The whole world is up in arms still to this day because the world and Satan cannot abide that God’s plan is coming true.
Jerusalem is the capital of Israel because it is God’s eternal city where the king will come and rule the whole world. Zechariah 14: 9-10, And the LORD will be king over all the earth; in that day the LORD will be the only one, and His name the only one. All the land will be changed into a plain from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem; but Jerusalem will rise and remain on its site from Benjamin’s Gate as far as the place of the First Gate to the Corner Gate, and from the Tower of Hananel to the king’s wine presses.” Notice that the King of Israel will be the king of the whole world in that day. All of the nations will come against Jerusalem in that day and they will lose the war, again!
That brings us to the peace deal. The Bible teaches that there is a false peace deal coming. It is a peace deal about the land of Israel and Jerusalem. President Trump has said that part of his motivation to declare Jerusalem the capital of Israel is because everything they have tried for peace in the past has failed. He can make the ultimate deal bringing peace between the Palestinians and the Jews. It is not going to happen. Pres. Trump said to Mahmoud Abbas in May, “I want to support you in being the Palestinian leader who signs his name to the final and most important peace agreement that brings safety, stability, and prosperity to both peoples and to the region.” Abbas said in response to the decision of Trump on Jerusalem, “The US also ignored that east Jerusalem is an integral part of the occupied state of Palestine, an occupied city where church property and future is being threatened by the occupier and groups of Zionist fundamentalists,” he wrote. Abbas stressed that the Palestinians will reject the peace plan being drawn up by a team led by Trump senior adviser and son-in-law Jared Kushner that is expected to be issued soon. “It is because of the US decision to support illegality and the blatant violations of our rights that we will not accept the US as the mediator in the peace process, nor are we going to accept any plan from the US side.”
The problem is very simple, Israel has a right to all of her land, including all of the West Bank, the West Bank is Israeli land and the Palestinians are occupiers. God is about to give the land back to His people Israel, so war is coming. It is biblical prophecy and we are at the day of reckoning. God will not endure the insults of the nations any longer over His work to bring His people back to His land.
Palestinian Factions Call for ‘Liberation Army’ Over Jerusalem (Breitbart headline)
“Representatives of various Palestinian factions are calling for the establishment of a national “army” of liberation. The joint call came during a special conference held in Gaza under the rallying cry “Jerusalem is the eternal capital of Palestine” attended by delegates like Mahmoud al-Aloul, the deputy chair of Fatah, the movement led by Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, as well as a representative of the umbrella organization of clerics from the Muslim world and others like former Tunisian President Moncef Marzouki. Others called for the abandonment of the path of negotiations and for Arab countries to put aside normalization and create a national army that would fight for the “liberation” of Jerusalem and Palestine.”
The Arab Nations are calling for war, Iran has entered the mix and called for the destruction of Israel. It is the same message that appeared in 1947 and will appear until the day God puts an end to it at Armageddon. I will end with a few verses from the Bible:
Joel 2:18, Then the LORD will be zealous for His land And will have pity on His people.
Joel 3:1-2, For behold, in those days and at that time, When I restore the fortunes of Judah and Jerusalem, I will gather all the nations And bring them down to the valley of Jehoshaphat. Then I will enter into judgment with them there On behalf of My people and My inheritance, Israel, Whom they have scattered among the nations; And they have divided up My land.
Psalm 122:6, Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: “May they prosper who love you.
Isaiah 62:1, For Zion’s sake I will not keep silent, And for Jerusalem’s sake I will not keep quiet,
Until her righteousness goes forth like brightness, And her salvation like a torch that is burning.
