Prophecy Update: Russia, China, and the threat of War 1/5/2021
“You will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not frightened, for those things must take place, but that is not yet the end. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and in various places there will be famines and earthquakes. But all these things are merely the beginning of birth pangs.”
Matt.24:6-8
We have seen an uptick in tension regarding wars and rumors of wars in the last six months. Both China and Russia have been moving troops into position to invade Taiwan and Ukraine. The United States moved to form a new military pact called AUKUS. NATO and the USA threatened Russia with sanctions if they invade. Russia and China formed their own alliance against everyone. We will talk about the Russian Bear first:
In 2005, Vladimir Putin gave a speech where he said the following:
“Above all, we should acknowledge that the collapse of the Soviet Union was a major geopolitical disaster of the century. As for the Russian nation, it became a genuine drama. Tens of millions of our co-citizens and compatriots found themselves outside Russian territory. Moreover, the epidemic of disintegration infected Russia itself.” kremlin.ru
In 2014, Russia announced that they were going to reclaim the areas where their people lived. For Russia, Ukraine is Russian territory. It does not belong to Ukrainian separatists or nationalists. In fact, five million Russians live in Ukraine. Kiev, the capital of Ukraine has the title, “Mother of all Russian Cities” the title is over 800 years old. Ukraine has been part of Russia for over 300 years, until the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991. Here is what the Russians said in 2014:
“Putin Pledges To Protect All Ethnic Russians Anywhere. So, Where Are They? In recent weeks, the Russian government has articulated what might be called the Putin Doctrine, a blanket assertion that Moscow has the right and the obligation to protect Russians anywhere in the world. The ebbing and flowing of the Russian Empire and the Soviet Union over recent centuries have left millions of ethnic Russians and Russian speakers outside the borders of today’s Russian Federation.” rferl.org
Russia said these things because they were in the process of annexing Crimea. 80% of Crimean’s are Russian citizens and have Russian passports. Why did the Russians annex at that time?
“Sevastopol is a strategically important base for Russia’s naval fleet, in addition to being Russia’s only warm water base. After the dissolution of the Soviet Union, a 1997 treaty with Ukraine allowed Russia to keep its Black Sea Fleet pretty much intact (with 15,000 personnel currently stationed) and lease the base at Sevastopol in the Crimea. Crimea was bound to be the focus of the Russian backlash against the Ukrainian revolution. … For more than 20 years, ever since the collapse of the Soviet Union, its rule by Kiev has been a major source of Russian resentment – inside and outside Crimea – and a major thorn in Ukraine’s relations with Russia.” theguardian.com
When Ukraine said that Russia no longer could use the base, that was a red line for Russia. They took the Crimea without firing a shot. The threats from the west came fast and sanctions by the USA were meant to punish the Russians. The Russian response in 2014 should sound familiar:
“Russia can turn US to radioactive ash – Kremlin-backed journalist. A Kremlin-backed journalist issued a stark warning to the United States about Moscow’s nuclear capabilities on Sunday as the White House threatened sanctions over Crimea’s referendum on union with Russia.” reuters.com
Russia made the same threat on Dec.21, 2021:
“Vladimir Putin warns NATO ‘everyone will be turned to radioactive ash’ over Ukraine moves. Vladimir Putin’s media mouthpiece Dmitry Kiselyov warned US-led aggression could lead to a nuclear war and warned NATO ‘everyone will be turned into radioactive ash.” mirror.co
For those who know history, wars over Ukraine and Crimea are nothing new. They have been going on for a thousand years. What is new is that Russia is willing to threaten the use of nuclear weapons against the United States to keep what they believe is theirs. The problem we face as a nation is that this missile, called a hypersonic missile, is a first strike weapon that cannot be seen on radar. It is that fast. Russia just tested 10 of them at the same time to warn the USA that they will nuke us if we try to stop them. They showed video of them hitting the USA in 2018.

Why is Russia so angry that it will use nukes to protect what they are doing? They believe that the United States lied to them that they would not move NATO to their border. For them, it is the Cuban Missile Crises all over again but in reverse. Instead of Russia putting nukes in Cuba, the United States is putting them in Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, and now Ukraine. If Ukraine joins NATO, Russia will go to war to prevent it.
Russia has a master plan to destroy the USA. They have been working that plan and this crises gives them the cover to put more of their plan into action. Douglas Schoen wrote a book about it called “Putin’s Master Plan.” He said,
“Vladimir Putin has a master plan to destroy Europe, divide NATO, reclaim Russian influence in the world, and most of all to marginalize the United States and the West in order to achieve regional hegemony and global power. Putin’s global strategy, which could inevitably and inexorably lead to the breakup of the NATO alliance, and potentially to war with the West. Currently, the West has no strategy, no plan, and no tactics to confront Putin’s master plan other than imposing limited economic sanctions, which have done little to deter Putin’s aggression—and may well have encouraged and facilitated it. Russia has demonstrated an extraordinary level of aggression, most boldly in its outright invasions of Georgia and Ukraine. American weakness and a divided Europe have left Russia’s terrified neighbors without an alternative to Russian domination, and even once-stalwart American allies such as the Republic of Georgia are on the brink of becoming part of Putin’s new empire in Europe.” amazon.com
China is the other country that has a master plan to destroy the USA. China has a tumultuous century starting in 1911 when there was a coup over the Qing dynasty. Qing dynasty, also called Manchu dynasty, the last of the imperial dynasties of China, spanning the years 1644 to 1911/12. Chinese Revolution, (1911–12), nationalist democratic revolt that overthrew the Qing (or Manchu) dynasty in 1912 and created a republic. This event set up the war for China in the 1940’s after going through a war with Japan for much of the 1930’s and 1940’s. Xi Jingping, the current dictator of China is like Mao in their hatred of the independent Chinese living in Taiwan. The Taiwanese think that they are the legitimate government of all Chinese and the communists hate them.
“From 1911 to 1945, China experienced a revolution, a struggle against warlords, a civil war between the Nationalists led by Chiang Kai-Shek and the Communists led by Mao Zedong, and invasion by the Japanese. After the defeat of the Japanese in World War II in 1945, a full-blown civil war erupted again in 1946. The Nationalists were backed by the United States and the Communists had support from the Soviet Union. By 1949, Chiang and the Nationalists, despite having more soldiers than the Communists, were defeated and forced to evacuate the Chinese mainland for the island of Taiwan.” crf-usa.org
Taiwan has grown into a free, prosperous, and democratic republic while China suffers under the communist dictators without freedom of press, speech, and conscience. The Chinese have convinced the world of their lie that they are the only legitimate government. As a Christian, I see them as an illegitimate government based on biblical truth.
“What is behind the China-Taiwan dispute? Nov 27, 2021: This year Beijing has turned up its sabre rattling on the disputed island, deploying a record number of military aircraft. The Chinese navy has also held live-fire drills close to Taiwanese waters to ratchet up the pressure. Taiwan’s official name is the Republic of China (ROC), tracing its founding to 1911 on the Chinese mainland after the collapse of China’s last imperial dynasty. Beijing views Taiwan as an inseparable part of its territory – even though the Chinese Communist Party has never governed the island. Fifty years ago, the United Nations voted to recognise the People’s Republic of China (PRC), the Communist government that took power in the mainland as the “only legitimate representative of China”. 9news.com.
I think that it is very sad that the world stands behind China at the UN and stands against Taiwan. The United Nations always chooses evil over good. I have a good friend who is a pastor in Taiwan. The church is free in Taiwan but under great pressure of persecution in China.
“The current testimony of the Chinese church in the one free province of Taiwan, off the China mainland, is that it has largely maintained peace among the brethren despite tensions within and pressures from without. So far, the basis for fellowship has been a conservative theological consensus, common participation in evangelism, and strictly informal interchurch relations. Certain sharp exceptions can no doubt be made, but the basic pattern is harmonious.” christianitytoday.com
This article is from 1966 and the church has grown since then. There is a vibrant movement in Taiwan so whatever the Chinese decide to do, God is going to work for the benefit of His people.
Communism is the ugly step sister of the coming antichrist government. Both are totalitarian, both are dehumanizing, both steal the resources from the people, both preach a false gospel, both worship a false god, both are based on deception and lies. This is what God said about the coming world empire:
“That is, the one whose coming is in accord with the activity of Satan, with all power and signs and false wonders, and with all the deception of wickedness for those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth so as to be saved. For this reason God will send upon them a deluding influence so that they will believe what is false, in order that they all may be judged who did not believe the truth, but took pleasure in wickedness.”

America is under a fog, not understanding the relationship between Russia and China. They are both actively working for the demise of the United States.
“Allies’ China and Russia are ganging up on America. The three-decade-old nightmare of Washington policymakers has now come true: Beijing and Moscow have ganged up on America. Putin, according to readouts, supported Beijing’s “legitimate position” on Taiwan, and Xi supported Russian demands for “security guarantees” and assurances that NATO will never admit Ukraine. Beijing and Moscow have been coordinating external policies and, since 2005, have been conducting joint military exercises.” thehill.com
We live in the days of Jeremiah, Habakkuk, and Ezekiel when God is judging our country. Please pray that the gospel goes forth and God sends a revival on our land. When the righteous rule, the people rejoice but when the wicked rule the people groan. Pray for righteous leaders.
